Abstract. Mathematical model is a good approach to deal with the coupling effects of governing parameters in algal bloom growth. Among many models to deal with combining factors and data-based supervised learning classifiers, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has the most significant impact on the development of bloom pattern. The objective of this paper is to use the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model to simulate the growth of harmful algae under environmental factors that can lead to bloom pattern in two reservoirs of Moncton city (Canada) with the collected data from two years of observation 2016–2017.

Abstract. The analysis of the actual air condition in the city of Kyiv in the areas of big overpasses and crossroads shows that the average annual concentration of formaldehyde more than 3 times exceeds the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) of this toxic substance. One of the most powerful sources of formaldehyde formation in the air of the city is motor vehicles. The role of weather factors in formaldehyde formation rate (K) depending on capacity of emissions of internal combustion engines has been analyzed in this article. The equation for determining rate constant has been obtained, which depends on the temperature in the city of Kyiv and on the value of effective energy activation of the mentioned process. The comparison of the calculated and measured values of the rate reaction constant in Observation Point (OP) No. 9 in the area of Leningradska square has been given. The conducted research gives the opportunity to assess and obtain forecasting data on atmospheric pollution and probability of smog situations emergence in Kyiv. The suggested methodology can be used for other cities in Ukraine where motor vehicles are the main indicator of photochemical smog emergence.

Key words: formaldehyde, indicator of pollution, impact of weather factors, motorway overpasses, concentration of pollution, mathematical model of atmospheric pollution

Abstract. The article provides the estimation of the influence of military activity on the environment at the international peacekeeping and security centre. The assessment was carried out by determining the value of the environmental risk of the military activity impact on the indicator species of animals listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine - white-tailed bald eagle and small snapper. It has been established that despite the exceeding contents of heavy metals in soils, the risk of deterioration of the health of birds feeding on the territory of the polygon is extremely small.

Abstract. At present, mechanical, chemical, biochemical and physicochemical methods of cleaning are developed and efficiently used to protect water bodies from sewage pollution. The methods of biochemical wastewater purification from organic contaminants with the use of activated sludge have received the highest recognition. Getting of additional nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and other trophic precursors into the aquatic ecosystem directly leads to immediate biohydrogenase reaction of increase in the number and biomass of the primary producers of organic matter. Chemical composition of water is an important criterion for water quality assessment. Therefore, the study of the dynamics of qualitative and quantitative chemical composition of water is a priority task in determining the efficiency of wastewater treatment in bioreactors.

Abstract. In order to predict ecological safety conserning cocoa dust emission (PM2,5 and PM10), the mathematical modeling of its dispersion was performed considering the atmosphere turbulent diffusion. Necessary gravity sedimentation rate of cocoa dust for modeling was identified during the experimental researches. Obtained results indicate the necessity of intensification of fine particles emission clean-up in the observed confectionery factory.

Abstract. Ecological and biochemical analysis of transformations of sulfur compounds of natural and technogenic genesis is carried out in the article. Biochemical analysis was based on metabolic models of bacteria Thiobacillus sp., Acidithiobacillus sp. etc. and the study of ecological trophic groups of microorganisms using the KEGG database to establish the regularities of sulfur transformations produced using secondary raw materials. The ways of attracting bacterially transformed sulfur by plant systems as an environmentally safe direction for improving S-nutrition in the ecosystem were determined.
